US President Reiterates Support for Cambodia's Development

PHNOM PENH: US President Joe Biden has stated that the US will continue to support Cambodia in its efforts to become more democratic and independent.

President Biden posted a Tweet through the official presidential account on Sunday, 13 November, while in Cambodia to attend the ASEAN Summit, recapping his meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen.

He wrote, “I met with Prime Minister Hun Sen of Cambodia to discuss Cambodia's leadership of ASEAN during a challenging year. I also reiterated the United States' commitment to the Cambodian people and their aspirations for a more prosperous, democratic, and independent country."

It should be noted that on Saturday, 12 November, the US President led a delegation to attend the ASEAN Summit and related summits in Cambodia. During the summit, he also held a separate meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen.
